Description:
The Client Services Specialist Certificate of Achievement program prepares students for entry level employment in occupations requiring technical client service skills, such as records verification and documentation, and people skills such as human relations. The program also provides students with written and verbal presentation skills, as well as skills in computer application software, calculators, and filing.
Examples of specific job titles include Eligibility Worker, Intake Worker, Personnel Specialist Trainee, Customer Service Representative, Contract Clerk, Records Clerk, Housing Assistant, Claims Processor.
Job opportunities exist in a variety of fields including public and private social/human services, government agencies, insurance, financial, medical, and mortgage/real estate industries, as well as other fields emphasizing client services.

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this certificate, the student will be able to:
- Satisfy the minimum educational requirements for the position of eligibility worker at the County of Sonoma as well as various other client and customer service positions;
- demonstrate written and oral presentation skills;
- demonstrate technical administrative support skills required for client services employment positions; and
- apply necessary skills required for managing the complex human interactions and communications that take place in organizations.

It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities, specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses.
