Description:
The Retail Management Certificate of Achievement is designed for students who are or will be working in a supervisory capacity in retail management operations. The coursework provides students with a broad foundation of information related to current management practices. The program encompasses business essentials including management, marketing, written and oral communications, and accounting skills required for career success in the retail industry.
The Retail Management Certificate meets a great demand in the labor market for entry-level retail managers, ranging from small businesses to retail chains, including food store chains. This certificate has been endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) who grants a separate industry certification.

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to:
- Explain and evaluate approaches to the challenges prevalent in the retail industry;
- demonstrate analytical communication and decision making skills for occupations in retail management; and
- recognize and apply appropriate management and leadership principles needed to efficiently and effectively meet objectives in a diverse and fast changing organizational setting.
