Description:
The Retail Merchandising Management Certificate of Achievement program prepares individuals to become merchandising managers in retail operations. Retail merchandising management involves the buying of merchandise and its subsequent sale from the retailing firm to its customers. It requires the managerial skills of decision-making, directing, organizing and controlling.
Two career avenues are open. The first involves the actual buying and selling of merchandise and the second involves activities supporting the sale of merchandise, such as merchandising. Opportunities in Retail Merchandising Management include advertising, publicity, merchandise display, personnel selection and training, inventory control, store management, and buying.
