Description:

The International Business Skills Certificate offers managerial and non-managerial skill-building courses in the functions of international business. Students will be able to function more intelligently and skillfully in a variety of business occupations/tasks/skills, and to understand the exigencies and opportunities of living and working abroad.

Individuals may find employment in fields such as exporting-importing, international finance, contracts and negotiations, international online marketing, and management of marketing strategies abroad. The program also provides students with skills to better appreciate the sensitivity and volatility associated with involvement in international trade.

One of Sonoma County's fastest growing areas is international trade. Many of these occupational opportunities are embedded in existing businesses; others may use these skills in starting their own international business, often using the Internet. Career opportunities are enhanced for individuals who understand the nature of international trade and possess the skills to manage the international trade/ export-import/ marketing abroad functions in a variety of business sectors, such as, telecommunications, software, service providers, and wineries.
