Description:

Students completing the Psychology major at Santa Rosa Junior College will develop skills and knowledge consistent with the study of Psychology in a global, multicultural, and comparative context. The successful student will have mastered the reading, writing, and research skills essential to Psychological inquiry and exposition. Completion of the program will provide the orientation and background necessary for success in the major at the university level and will provide a foundation for lifelong learning.

It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities, specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses. No course may be used more than once to fulfill a requirement in the major. A grade of "C" or better is required for all major classes.
