Astronomy of the Solar System
Description:A descriptive introduction to the Solar System including the Sun, Moon, planets, asteroids, and comets.Topics will include lunar phases, eclipses, historical geocentric and heliocentric models of the cosmos, planetary geology, planetary atmospheres and climates, the formation of the Solar System, and extrasolar planetary systems.
Recommended Preparation:Completion of MATH 150A or higher AND Completion of ENGL 100 or ESL 100
Transferability:CSU; UC 
Repeatability:Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP

 This course offers both live and recorded lectures. Attendance for the live lectures is optional. If you choose the live lecture it will be via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm. The recorded lecture will be posted on Youtube and typically available later Wednesday night. I will not have a set office hour but will be available via email. This is a late start class and is open to all students. Late start classes start two weeks late and end one week early.
