Astronomy Observational Lab -- : Aug 15 - Sep 08 2024
This class will have a mandatory synchronous orientation via Zoom on Thursday, 8/15 from 6:30-8:00pm. The class will then meet in-person in Rm 2039 Lark Hall from 6:30-9:30pm on Wednesday 8/21 and Thursday 8/22. There will also be required field trips to a Lake Sonoma observing site (you must provide your own transportation) from 5pm-1am on Friday, 8/23, Saturday, 8/24, Friday, 8/30, and Saturday, 8/31. There will also be two additional mandatory synchronous Zoom meetings from 6:30-8:00pm on Thursday, 8/29 and Sunday, 9/1. This compressed class will have approximately 6 hours per week of online, asynchronous content. If any field trips are cancelled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, class may meet in an alternate location of Rm. 2039 Lark Hall, or alternate versions of the field trip activities may be completed asynchronously online instead at the instructors' discretion. Course fee of $10.13 is required for necessary materials that will be supplied. This section may meet in the SRJC planetarium on 8/23, 8/24, 8/30, and 8/31 in the event of inclement weather.
