This course will identify and specify the training necessary for entry level public safety dispatchers who have no prior training or limited experience in the area of dispatching.  Issues addressed will consist of knowledge and skills necessary for dispatchers to meet minimum performance standards for entry level positions.  The student will be introduced to the criminal justice system, the laws as they pertain to dispatchers and public safety, communication theory, telephone procedures, radio procedures, resource and referral services, critical incidents, and stress management.
