At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Analyze and assess studio lighting techniques regarding artificial light and digital camera exposure.
2. Create a portfolio of digital images that demonstrates a range of studio lighting techniques.

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Demonstrate basic knowledge of studio photography equipment correctly, safely, and creatively in the production of original images.
2. Demonstrate proper use of: cameras, lights, modifiers, stands, booms, and tripods.
3. Demonstrate mastery of various artificial light sources including continuous light and studio strobes.
4. Employ creative and critical judgment regarding photographic composition and lighting for working in a photographic studio setting.
5. Apply a working vocabulary of studio photography terminology towards the critical analysis of images.
6. Create a portfolio that demonstrates a range of studio lighting techniques.

1. Studio light set projects: Create and critique 3-5 images for each of the assigned projects (3-6)
 
2. Midterm: Create and critique 5 in-progress images and portfolio
 
3. Final: Create and critique portfolio of 5-10 images of self-selected subjects
