At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Define the job of a clothing alterationist.
2. Solve special problems in fitting and altering clothing.
3. Apply basic sewing skills to altering ready-made clothing.
4. Recognize various fabrics and be able to differentiate different
techniques to alter.
5. Recognize the different techniques used in home sewing and the
ready-to-wear industry.
6. Formulate setting up your own business, in home or shopping center.
