At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of the vocabulary and terminology of
pharmacology in order that he or she can read, interpret and converse
intelligently about technical information pertaining to drugs.
2.  Demonstrate a base knowledge of the mechanisms of action of drugs of
different chemical categories and how they affect the body's physiology
3.  Apply general principles of pharmacology to specific newly emerging
medications.
4.  Develop the ability to assess a patient's general medical status
