COURSE CONTENT

Student Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1.  Play competitive pickleball and execute fundamental skills at an advanced level.

2.  Demonstrate tactics, positioning, and field spacing at an advanced level

3.  Apply the rules of play.

4.  Identify the mental aspects of pickleball

5.  Compete in singles and doubles matches

 

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Execute advancede level, offensive and defensive fundamentals of pickleball.

2. Analyze  techniques of serving, returns and overhead shots at an advanced level

3. Incorporate strategies for attacking various defensive alignmentsduring singles and doubles matches

4. Demonstrate knowledge of the mental aspects of pickleball

Assignments:

Students are expected to spend an additional one and one-half hours per week outside of class completing one or more of the following assignments.

1. Practice and analyze advanced pickleball skills and fundamentals

2. In-class competitive pickleball situations

3. Performance exams (3 - 5 skill tests) throughout the semester

4. Quizzes (1 - 5)

Writing: Assessment tools that demonstrate writing skill and/or require students to select, organize and explain ideas in writing.		Writing 0 - 0%

This is a degree applicable course but assessment tools based on writing are not included because skill demonstrations are more appropriate for this course.
