COURSE CONTENT

Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1.  Design a floor plan using the elements and principles of design to create a space appropriate for a lifestyle.
2.  Select and arrange functional and decorative furnishings and accessories according to elements, principles, and goals of design.
3.   Arrange accessories in a room plan in such a way that they are pleasant and balanced within the scope of the design of the room.
4.   Accurately measure a space and record the dimensions.
5.   Use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment for drafting interior space plans.
6.   Utilize lettering, graphic and pictorial drawing techniques and the various drawing standards and conventions used in interior design.
7.   Create a scale drawing using 1/4" and 1/2" scale.
8.   Draw floor plans illustrating exterior and interior dimensions.
9.   Draw simple interior elevations.
10. Recognize and identify the components of a set of architectural working drawings.
11. Prepare color boards that illustrating interior room components.
