1. Identify appropriate Spanish language activities for suitability for children in a variety of early childhood settings.
2. Develop and demonstrate an awareness of Latino culture aspects associated with Latino culture including beliefs, customs, traditions, and holidays.
3. Demonstrate beginning level receptive and expressive Spanish language skills.
4. Identify effective teaching strategies for second language learning that apply to children and adults.
5. Create thematic, integrated Spanish lesson plans for Spanish language activities.

4. Prepare and demonstrate a thematic Spanish language arts curriculum
5. Research and present a report on a current topic that pertains to children in Latino culture
6. Create an annotated bibliography of children's books in Spanish and describe how the books could be used as part of a theme or curriculum (approximately 40 entries total)
7. Vocabulary tests (approximately 1-3)
8. Written response to video (approximately 2-4 pages)
