The successful student will demonstrate 65% accuracy in the areas of:
1. Conversational ASL with increased comprehension and production
2. Use of 200 signs with appropriate function and grammar
3. Advanced ASL grammar
4. ASL cultural information, including participation in Deaf community
activities.

I. Content of instructional activities includes but is not limited
to, the following:
A. Grammatical forms necessary for conversational functions
relating to:
1. object location around the house
2. complaints/requests
3. life events, nationalities, and family histories
4. object description
5. talking about weekend

C. Vocabulary commensurate with conversational funcitons
D. Deaf Culture informaiton
E. Conversational strategies
II. Tasks
A. Locate physical objects around house
B. Criticize behaviors, spouse, children, pets, neighbors, etc.
C. Discuss medical terminology related to symptoms and course of
medical treatment
D. Express concern and give suggestions
E. Exchange personal information about life events, including
family background
F. Discuss foreign countries and world travel
III. Scope
The range of this course corresponds to completion of the college
level representative text, including, but not limited to, major
language functions as well as specific and cultural behaviors.
Language comprehension and production are equally stressed at
this level.
