It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities, specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses. See a counselor, visit the Transfer Center, and check Guides For Transfer in Specific Majors, and ASSIST to review transfer preparation guides for specific schools and majors.
Notes:
All courses taken in conjunction with this program must be completed with a letter grade of "C" or better.
All Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Work Experience courses must be taken within the past five academic years. Courses taken prior to Spring 1997 semester do not meet the recency requirement for science courses and work experience. The only exception to the work experience recency is for students who completed a certificate program from an accredited or state approved program in a health related field and who have worked in health care within the past five years. If a student is completing one of these courses during the summer session prior to entry into the program, a special Grade Verification Form, completed by the course instructor, will be accepted in lieu of a transcript.
The department recommends passage of the math proficiency exam to fulfill math proficiency requirement prior to beginning the program. Because basic algebra is included on the NLN Test and is recommended for chemistry, students without basic algebra skills are advised to take Math 150A (Elementary Algebra).
