At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Identify and apply the principles and techniques used in draping garment patterns on the dress form.
2. Design, drape, pattern and sew an original design.

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Accurately employ the fabric grainline and dress form balance lines to achieve the desired garment drape.
2. Demonstrate the correct use of ease for comfort and fit in draped pattern design.
3. Drape a variety of garment components which can be combined to create original designs.
4. Identify and apply correct pattern elements such as notches, drill holes, and seam allowances to a paper pattern.
5. Construct sample garments from draped patterns to test design and fit.  
6. Understand the role of draped design in apparel production.
7. Create and interpret sketched garment designs.
