Advanced, concentrated study in theatre appropriate to a student's own unique focus and circumstances, or in areas not covered by other courses in the curriculum. The course involves seminars or individual conferences by arrangement to provide for independent study and enriched academic experience. Students will work with a faculty project supervisor who has agreed to oversee the project. UC determines credit AFTER transfer; not counted for admission. (See a counselor for details.)

1. Demonstrate expanded knowledge of a selected independent study topic in theatre arts orally, in writing, or via research and/or creative project.
2. Additional student learning outcomes will vary depending on the nature of the individual student project.

Topics will vary depending on the nature of individual student projects.
Repeating students may choose different topics or emphasis depending on approval of the project.
Assignments:

Assignments will vary depending upon the nature of individual student projects, but will typically fall into one of these categories:
1. A written play
2. A directed project in acting performance, theatre design, or technical theatre
3. An audition performance, accompanied by a written report
4. Field work in one or more aspects of the theatre arts, with written summary
All students completing projects will fulfill the following:
1. Preparation of and adherence to a project schedule
2. Attendance at regular meetings with faculty supervisor
3. Regular progress reports and/or regular submission of work in progress
