COURSE CONTENT

Student Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. To perform effectively as an ensemble company member in a professional theatre company.

 

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:

1.  Demonstrate the professional responsibilities of a theatre artist while participating

     in the preparation, execution and performance of multiple productions simultaneously.

2.  Prioritize tasks in an environment with multiple and competing demands.

3.  Demonstrate an understanding of the professional production process, from script

     to performance, and utilize advanced theatre practices within the process.

4.  Recognize and exhibit the discipline of professional theatre backstage protocols.

5.  Communicate successfully within the hierarchy of a repertory theatre structure.

6.  Support the work of the rest of a production ensemble, working cooperatively within

    a team structure of fellow professionals.

7.  Interpret and fulfill advanced theatre instructions accurately, working calmly under pressure.

8.  Quickly assess situations and adapt accordingly within professional production

Assignments:

1.  Complete all responsibilities for assigned positions for multiple productions during the season.

2.  Adhere to advanced standards of professionalism, following the terms of the Company Handbook and course syllabus.

3.  Provide and wear required attire for construction, rehearsals and performances.

4.  Read the script for each assigned production.
