Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1. Operate a sewing machine, iron, and sewing equipment with minimal supervision.
2. Identify techniques necessary for the draping & flat pattern design process.
3. Determine the basic construction techniques for wovens and knit fabrics.
4. Complete lab assignments and projects according to course guidelines.

V. Fabric layout
VI. Pressing equipment
VII. Basic operation of a sewing machine
VIII. Sewing machine parts and accessories
IX. Selection of patterns and suitable fabrics
X. Body and pattern measurements
XI. Basic pattern alterations
XII. Basic construction techniques for woven fabrics
XIII. Basic construction techniques for knit fabrics
XIV. Utilize a dress form to create designs directly from fabric
XV. True the fabric drape
XVI. Interpret 3-D Design into flat pattern pieces
XVII. Develop paper patterns with complete and accurate markings
XVIII. Use Sloper or dress form to create Basic Designs
XIX. Pattern designs in 1/2'' scale
