1.  Apply cognitive paramedic knowledge to the care of an ill or injured person in the controlled
     environment of a hospital or clinical setting.
2.  Demonstrate the ability to perform psychomotor skills as outlined in the California state
     regulations, Health and Safety Code, Title 22 and National Registry of Emergency Medical
     Technicians.
3.  Demonstrate personal behaviors consistent with professional and employer expectations
     while caring for an ill or injured person.

1. Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and members of
     health care team
2. Demonstrate ability to perform a thorough patient assessment on an adult or pediatric patient
     with a medical complaint or traumatic injury
3. Integrate clinical findings to determine a treatment plan for the adult or pediatric patient with a
     medical complaint or traumatic injury
4. Demonstrate affective behaviors expected of a professional paramedic
5. Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms
6. Administer appropriate medication to treat abnormal cardiac rhythms
7. Demonstrate assessment and management of a patient with a cardiovascular emergency
8. Demonstrate assessment and management of a patient with a respiratory emergency
9. Demonstrate assessment and management of a patient with a medical emergency of the
     endocrine, nervous, gastrointestinal, genitourinary (GI/GU) and reproductive systems
