Demonstrate the ability to meet the minimum, cognitive and psychomotor skill criteria for state certified fire and emergency medical care courses.

1. Demonstrate the skills and competencies to prepare for fire fighting, rescue, and patient care
and management.
2. Identify the practices of self-contained breathing apparatus, ropes and knots, ladders, hose
evolutions, and physical fitness agility.
3. Identify the practices of patient assessment and management of medical and trauma
emergencies.
4. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills as they relate to
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the fire service.
5. Demonstrate and apply knowledge learned using computer based instructional programs for
EMS and fire curriculum.
