Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Demonstrate skills in visual analysis by identifying specific formal elements in personal work.
2. Analyze the relationship between forms, surface, materials, proportion and scale to appreciate large sculptures and conceptual sculpture.
3. Demonstrate construction techniques through personal aesthetic exploration.
4. Expand a working vocabulary of sculptural terms to make aesthetic and technical judgments of one's own work.
5. Demonstrate creative processes and decision-making skills with both disciplined work habits and risk-taking experimentation.
6. Define health and safety issues that arise from the use of materials and equipment to maintain a sculpture studio.
7. Repeating students will be able to:
    A. Demonstrate skills of designing a site/public sculpture plan.
    B. Identify the sculptural and social nature of site-specific sculpture.

1. Find one's own subject matter to resolve particular problems and express various ideas in traditional and conceptual sculpture projects.
2. Make a series of at least three works for portfolio.
3. Design a site-specific or public sculpture.
4. Examine books and magazines devoted to historical and contemporary sculpture.
5. Create a final project demonstrating the techniques learned during course: exhibit completed work.
6. Class critiques
7. Repeating students will accomplish the above assignment applying the following criteria:
    A. Make series of works for portfolio
    B. Produce a site-specific sculpture
