1. Plan an independent study project in an Earth Science or Astronomy related discipline.

2. Conduct the study by means of literature research, field work, or laboratory work.

3. Present the results of the study in a written and/or oral format.

Content will vary with the student, but will build upon the department's regular offerings and capitalize on the student's special interests or abilities.
