Musical Experience |
Description: | This course is designed to enrich the quality of life of older adults through music. The course activities promote or maintain physical, mental, social and emotional well-being and accommodate varied skill levels. A variety of stimulating and uplifting activities are incorporated, including movement to music, remembering old favorites, group sing-along and exposure to new music. This course is offered at numerous locations throughout Sonoma County in partnership with senior service providers. |

| Class focuses on Voice Lessons for Beginners. This class is designed for beginners with no singing experience. It will introduce basic vocal techniques, focusing on foundational aspects of singing. We will also address common questions about singing, such as how to sing loudly or sing higher notes without straining the voice. Singing is a wonderful form of exercise with many benefits, including relieving stress and anxiety, improving breathing, uplifting mood, strengthening concentration and memory, among many others |

| Class focuses on Piano Reboot Does the piano in the corner of your living room gather more dust than tunes? Did you start piano lessons at some point, but struggle to stay motivated? Have you always wanted to learn, but never had the opportunity? This is a hands-on class in a group-learning format to get back into the habit, or get the habit started. We will build skills to get playing quickly, and at a level appropriate to your ability. We will focus on practice methods, healthy playing technique and touch, and repertoire in a wide variety of styles. A keyboard instrument to practice on outside of class is helpful, but not essential. |
