| This section requires physical attendance in the lab in order to achieve learning objectives. The course will utilize Zoom for instruction. Field Labs and final exams will be in-person and will require strict adherence to class protocols. Students are required to have a suitable computer, reliable internet access (a minimum of 5 Mbps UPLOAD speed is required if using the Virtual Lab), a functioning webcam that has both video and audio capabilities, and the ability to print and scan 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheets of paper (at the instructor’s discretion, clear and legible digital photos may be an acceptable alternative to scanning). SRJC does have a first-come-first-served laptop loaner program through SRJC Student Services. Cell phones and the majority of tablets will not suffice. Computers must be capable of running a web browser, Zoom, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Earth. Active synchronous visible participation and attendance are required for the entire duration of all lectures and any non-field, online labs. To enable remote access, students will be required to install a VMWare client application. Further details will be provided in the course syllabus when available and during the first class meeting. |
