HORT 144 Landscape Irrigation Description: Prepares students to design, install, maintain, and audit a water efficient landscape irrigation system. Topics include basic water supply, basic hydraulics, component identification and terminology, system layout, pipe sizing, and types of valves, heads, and controllers, and practices related to appropriate horticulture for California. Students who complete the course with a grade of "C" or better will be recognized as having completed an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) approved WaterSense Training Program. Recommended Preparation: Eligibility for ENGL 100 or ESL 100 and CS 5 or proficiency in basic productivity software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Repeatability: Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP Grading Type: Grade or P/NP Sections listed are for Spring 2024
