HIST 22 History of California Description: Students will undertake a broad survey of California history from the precolonial period to the present. The course will examine the distinct contributions and interactions of diverse peoples and environments. Special attention is given to how political power is shaped by race, gender, class, and ethnicity in different periods of the state's history.
