Community Engagement
Description:Students will earn credit for volunteering in the community in this experiential learning course. Students will volunteer 52.50 hours per unit per semester for 0.5-3.0 units of credit at a variety of placements including clinics, hospitals, convalescent homes, schools, animal-care facilities, recreation programs, day care centers, and various non-profit organizations. The instructor will assist students in locating leads for volunteer opportunities.
Recommended Preparation:Eligibility for ENGL 100 or ESL 100
Limits on Enrollment:Student must complete an informational meeting with instructor to discuss volunteer opportunities and placement prior to enrollment.
Transferability:CSU 
Repeatability:Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP

 This course is intended for students in the Native American Summer Bridge Program. CI 51 sections are for students who volunteer in a variety of nonprofit or government agencies. Please email L.
