Description: | Introduction to journalism, news reporting and writing with an emphasis on journalistic standards, media ethics and the changing nature of the news industry. Students will learn fundamental reporting skills and write news and feature articles for possible publishing in the Oak Leaf college newspaper and/or website. |

| All students taking JOUR 1 are required to take JOUR 1L. This is a late start class beginning on 1/25. Mandatory Zoom classes will take place on Tuesdays and in-person classes will take place on Thursdays. Some content will be delivered asynchronously. Students should have reliable internet access and a functioning webcam that has both video and audio capabilities. JOUR 1L does not require additional meeting hours, but does not involve online work. This section is linked to JOUR 1L. Students are automatically enrolled in both sections. |
