Description: | An introduction to the basic concepts of theatre lighting, including hands-on instruction in the operation of stage lighting, planning, and rigging. Instruction in light sources, the theory of electricity in the theatre, color media and theory, lighting design, light plots, equipment, control systems, and rehearsal/performance procedures and operation. |

| The above section consists of mandatory hours divided in this way: 2 hours of weekly, unscheduled (i.e. recorded) lecture, 2 hours of weekly scheduled lab (live on Zoom) Thursday 12-2PM. Additionally, pending approval from the SRJC Administration and Sonoma County Public Health Officer, the remaining hours will be met on the following days with in-person Saturday workshops in Burbank Auditorium (8 hours each): 2/20/21, 3/13/21, 4/03/21 and 5/01/21. Students are expected to be online for the Thursday Zoom meetings with a functioning mic, and/or camera for the duration of the live session. More details will be provided in the syllabus distributed by the instructor. |
