IT Essentials 1: PC Hardware and Software |
Description: | Information Technology (IT) Essentials curriculum provides an introduction to the computer hardware and software skills needed to help meet the growing demand for entry-level Information Communication Technology (ICT) professionals. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software as well as advanced concepts such as security, networking, and the responsibilities of an ICT professional. The IT Essentials (ITE) curriculum emphasizes practical experience to help students develop fundamental computer and career skills. ITE helps students prepare for entry-level career opportunities in ICT and the CompTIA A+ certification. The course also provides a learning pathway to Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). |

| Optional Zoom meetings will take place for each class session on Tuesdays, 6-8pm. Attendance at these Zoom meetings is recommended but not required. The meetings will be recorded and available for playback later the next day. Additionally, 3-6 optional in-person classroom meetings will take place on the Petaluma campus in room PC 643. More details will be provided in the syllabus distributed by the instructor. |
