Geology Field Trip
Description:Investigation of the geologic features of various locations within California, through field study and observation. Destinations may include Yosemite, Long Valley Caldera, Point Reyes, Bodega Bay, Mt. Lassen, and the Modoc Plateau. Identification of rocks, minerals, landforms, geologic history, and geologic processes in the field. Course includes a four to five day field trip and strenuous hiking. Good overall health and fitness are recommended for anyone considering enrolling in this class.
Prerequisites:Course Completion of GEOL 1, GEOL 11 or PHYSC 21
Transferability:CSU; UC 
Repeatability:Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP

 The above section is a 5-day field trip to Yosemite and the eastern Sierra Nevada. There is an organizational meeting Friday, 7/31 from 5-7pm in Rm 2042, Lark Hall. Attendance at this pre-trip meeting is mandatory unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor. Field trip dates: Monday-Friday, 8/3-8/7. Field trip involves camping overnight and strenuous hiking. Good overall health and fitness are recommended for anyone considering taking this course. There is course fee of $45 to cover camping and park entrance fees. Mandatory post-trip meeting on 8/11, 5-6pm in 2042.
