Integration of Dental Hygiene and Dentistry |
Description: | This course is designed to integrate the concepts of general dentistry and five of the dental specialties into the practice of dental hygiene. The student will learn how to collaborate with general dentists and specialists in the following fields: endodontics, oral maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatrics, and prosthodontics. Students will learn how to recognize oral conditions that could indicate the need for a referral. Students will be exposed to various types of technology unique to each specialty. |
