Critical Thinking and Argumentation
Description:Students will focus on written argumentation with special attention to the essay form. Students will also employ analysis, evidence, reasoning, refutation, and rebuttal in oral and written discussions and debates to develop strong arguments for their final-draft papers.
Prerequisites:Completion of ENGL C1000 OR EMLS 10 (formerly ESL 10) or higher
Transferability:CSU; UC 
Repeatability:Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP
Grading Type:Grade or P/NP

 Mandatory Zoom meetings will take place on the days and times listed above. Students should have reliable internet access and a functioning webcam that has both video and audio capabilities. Given that the development of nonverbal skills is central to the Communication discipline, students are expected to have their webcams on when engaged in synchronous online instruction.
