Nature of Mathematics
Description:A survey course in mathematical concepts and mathematics in culture. Topics to include mathematical reasoning and four additional topics selected from number theory, probability, statistics, mathematical modeling, contemporary applications, geometry, and the history of mathematics. Recommended for liberal arts students.
Prerequisites:Course Completion of MATH 154 or Course Completion of MATH 155 or higher
Transferability:CSU; UC 
Repeatability:Two Repeats if Grade was D, F, NC, or NP

 For the above section is a hybrid class which combines face-to-face instruction with online learning. Class meets face-to-face Tuesdays, 1:30-3:00pm with an additional 6-9 hours per week for online learning activities. The above section uses less expensive open source course materials and requires consistent access to the internet for online course materials and homework.
