Hello!  My name is Diana Poulson and I LOVE studying Sociology.

I've been teaching Sociology at SRJC since 1994. With over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector including the Sonoma County Battered Women's Center, Social Advocates for Youth and Sonoma County Adults and Youth Development, I've enjoyed the balance of working in the field and teaching the discipline.  There is something new to be learned each and every day in our quest to find creative ways to address community needs.  The possibilities are endless!

For 6 years I facilitated workshops through Sonoma County Job Link, providing self-assessment , career exploration and resources that enhance job seeking skills for the unemployed, underemployed and displaced workers.  This was a profound learning experience, particularly during the recession of 2007-2009.

Recently, I had the opportunity to co-direct a health and wellness program for military veterans, active service members and military families called "Horses Building Communities" a program of the California Veterans Support Foundation. Guests at the barn were able to rest, renew and re-connect to themselves and each other, their families, and a supportive community through working with horses.  Unfortunately, that program is no longer operating due to lack of funding.

I am sorry, but all available add codes have been given for the semester. I hope to see you next semester!
Be well,
Prof Poulson

ADD CODE INFORMATION:
I receive numerous e-mails and phone messages from students each day asking for codes. Even though I would like to, I regret that I am not able to respond to each of you.

E-mail me a request and I will add your name to my Waiting List. Please be sure to include the class and section number you want to add. If space is available I will offer add codes to students from this list during the week before classes begin. Please understand, the closer we get to the beginning of the semester the list of students requesting add codes is very long.

You might also try registering for the class daily, or several times a day. If you catch it at just the right time, a student may be dropping at the moment you are trying to add.

Even if the class shows open seats, no add codes will be given beyond the first week of class.

Best of luck to you.
