At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

3.  Apply the proper formations and hand holds for dances from an international repertoire
4.  Demonstrate proper techniques for leading dances from an international repertoire
5.  Perform a variety of dance forms from an international folk dance repertoire
6.  Identify major folk dance rhythms across a broad spectrum of an international folk dance repertoire
7.  Compare and contrast folk dance styles from an international folk dance repertoire

1.  Weekly practice of dances and dance skills covered in class sessions.
2.  Reading of class handouts (5-10 pages per week)
3.  Learn names of dances, country of origin, formation and rhythms
4.  Memorize leader's calls to dances or native vocabulary for dance steps
5.  Participate in local folk dance events or festivals as approved by instructor; or a written critique of a dance piece or performance (based on a performance from the current semester, or for video viewing option, instructor will provide or approve a video). (2 - 3 pages)
