COURSE CONTENT

Student Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1.  Identify appropriate work experience opportunities and activities as related to students'

    individual career goals and functional limitations related to disability.

2.  Attend campus and/or community activities appropriate to students' personal, academic and/or

    career goals and interests.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

1. Describe the process and requirements for accessing student employment.

2. Compare and contrast paid employment versus paid internships.

3. Identify the benefits of participating in volunteer work and ulitilizing resources in the

    community that assist individuals in finding volunteer opportunities.

4. Describe how participation in campus and community activities furthers the achievement of

    academic and career goals.

5.  Discuss how to accommodate for limitations related to disability when seeking and

    participating in work experience opportunities and activities.

1. Career assignment worksheets, documenting progress made towards employment (5-7)
