Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

   1.  Know how heating and cooling effects weather patterns and
       how air temperature is measured
   2.  Be able to measure moisture in the air
   3.  Know the cause of atmospheric stability
   4.  Understand how special wind conditions will change fire
       behavior
   5.  Know some of the causes of thunderstorms and their effect
       on fire behavior
B.  Fuel
   1.  Know when fuel can speed up or slow down a forest fire
C.  Terrain
   1.  Be able to explain why fires go uphill faster and the
       different effects of slope and exposure
D.  Fire Model
   1.  Understand how fire can develop into a blowup fire
E.  Fire Control
   1.  Know the types of equipment and when they should be used
       and the safe use of this equipment
   2.  Understand the basic fire organization
   3.  Know the different methods of attacking a forest fire
   4.  Know the ten standard fire fighting rules
