COURSE CONTENT

Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Judge the quality of lingerie fabrics and trims.
2. Construct various types of lingerie items and foundation garments.
3. Use a sergers and conventional sewing machines to accomplish techniques
  appropriate to lingerie construction.
4. Repeating students will apply techniques to:
       a. different styles of lingerie
       b. increasingly complex lingerie patterns
       c. fabric manipulation with a greater variety and more difficult
          to use fabrics
       d. increasingly complex fitting issues and adjustments
       e. new decorations and trims

2. Compile a project binder of samples.
3. Construct three garments with lace and/or elastic.
4. Compile a cost and quality comparison of garments made in class and
  similar ready-to-wear garments.
5. Final exam.
6. Repeating students will accomplish the above assignments applying the
following criteria:
  a. Use different lingerie styles
  b. Use more complex patterns
  c. Use increasingly difficult to handle fabrics
  d. Use different decorations and trims
  e. Make fitting adjustments
