At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

THE STUDENT WILL HAVE DEVELOPED:
I. An understanding of the rules of tennis as they pertain to:
A. USTA interpretation.
B. California Community College Intercollegiate competition.
II. The knowledge of a physical conditioning program and the understand-
ing of why and how it is implemented into a competitive tennis format
III. Advanced level skills and fundamentals necessary for intercollegiate
tennis competition.
IV. Advanced strategy for both singles and doubles intercollegiate tennis
competition.
V. The knowledge to understand and analyze individual and team play of
other players.
VI. The ability to develop a yearly practice and play plan which leads
sequentially to the State Championship.

A. Body conditioning.
B. Review of advanced strokes.
C. Drills emphasing fundamentals.
D. Basic competition.
II. Pre-Conference Practice Matches.
A. Match preparation - "game plan".
B. Practicing basic singles and doubles strategy.
C. Drills incorporating considerable movement.
III. Conference Competition and Practice Routines.
A. Weekly practice plans developed.
B. Drills emphasizing balance and focus with movement.
C. Individual game plan for each opponent.
D. Individual practice routines developed.
E. Analyzing competition.
IV. Post Conference Competition and Practice Routines.
A. Drills emphasizing movement with focus.
B. Practicing advanced singles and doubles strategy.
C. Individual variations in planning for individual opponents -
