Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

  Student will:
 1.  Understand common diseases and parasites and their control.
 2.  Have ability to evaluate dairy animals by production data and live
     analysis.
 3.  Perform basic management procedures such as dehorning,
     identification, and vacinating.
 4.  Demonstrate a knowledge of feeding and reproduction as it
     pertains to sound management.
 5.  Identify all breeds of dairy cattle and assess their differences.
 6.  Have basic knowledge of housing and milking facilities and
     equipment.

Topics and Scope

 3.  Study of development of modern breeds of dairy cattle.
 4.  Methods used in development of a dairy herd.
