COURSE CONTENT

Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

The students will:
1.  Develop a terminology to describe stage and dance movements.
2.  Develop flexibility and orginality in movement.
3.  Understand and demonstrate changes of tempo, mood and character
   in dance.
4.  Utilize techniques of choreography and rehearsal of dance routines
   for performance.

Topics and Scope

1.  Movement studies based on various concepts, such as costume,
   props, dreams, etc.
2.  The staging of an original choreographical work.
3.  Dance sequences for a public performance.

Assignments:

1.  A solo movement study.
2.  Participation in faculty and student choreographed dances for
   public performance.
3.  A written critique of a live dance performance.
