1. Identify the reasons for correct irrigation scheduling.
2. Identify the proper methods of correctly propagating grapevines.
3. Correctly calibrate a sprayer for applying pesticides.
Topics and Scope

1. Propagation, rootstocks, varieties, and clones.
2. Pruning techniques, trellising, and canopy management.
3. Basic physiology - how a vine grows, function of vine parts, and basic
anatomy.
4. Irrigation and frost protection.
5. Fertilization/fertigation techniques.
6. Pest management - pest and disease identification.
7. Soils - physical and chemical nature.
8. Cultural practices and their effect on quality.
9. Safety and farm machinery.
