Rather than a history of California, this course is a multidisciplinary examination of the distinct contributions that California has made in the spheres of art, consumer products, cultural movements, ideology and technological innovations. In so doing, the course analyzes California's contributions to, and influence on, American and global cultures and its enduring appeal for people throughout the United States and the world.
