The Chamber Singers are a 16- to 32-voice mixed ensemble dedicated to the study, rehearsal, and performance of a cappella and accompanied choral literature for chamber choir. The Chamber Singers are an advanced ensemble designed for experienced singers. Students in 23D will have increased opportunities for vocal solos, outreach performance in smaller groups, and/or to assume mentor/leadership roles within the ensemble. The Chamber Singers perform at least one major on-campus concert and several off-campus concerts each semester.

1.  Perform effectively in a small college-level chamber choir with appropriate style, diction,
    musicianship, and professionalism.

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Sing college-level literature for chamber choir in public performance.
2. Perform his/her assigned vocal line accurately at an advanced level.
3. Sing with stylistically appropriate vocal technique and tone color at an advanced level.
4. Demonstrate choral skills including blend, intonation, and pitch memory at an advanced level.
5. Organize and implement standard rehearsal protocol as a section or organizational leader.
6. Demonstrate professionalism through regular attendance at rehearsals and concerts,
    punctuality, preparedness, appropriate concert attire, and general demeanor.
 
Students repeating Chamber Singers will be able to:
1. Demonstrate greater technical achievement in their vocal performance.
2. Articulate musical phrases with greater clarity.
3. Perform with higher standards of intonation.
4. Demonstrate a more sophisticated comprehension of dynamics, phrasing, musical expression,
    and nuance.

    3. Preparation of vocal solos, if assigned (ungraded)
 
Out-of-Class (lab) Assignments:
    1. Attendance and participation at sectional rehearsals when scheduled
    2. Organizing and leading sectional rehearsals, if assigned
    3. Participation in concerts, tours, and other field trips as scheduled
    4. Final exam will be a public concert
 
Students repeating Chamber Singers will be held to higher standards of performance with each repetition.
