COURSE CONTENT

Student Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Students will be able to accomplish the outcomes and objectives agreed upon independently with the supervising faculty.

 

Objectives:

Students completing independent studies courses will be able to comprehend and demonstrate basic knowledge in the subject area specified on their application. In addition, they will be expected to apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate their knowledge and comprehension of the material.

Topics and Scope

Supervising faculty will insure that the topics of these Independent  Studies courses will be college level material and will include a critical thinking component as appropriate for each particular subject.

Assignments:

 Reading and writing assignments of varying lengths will be assigned.  Other assignments will be assigned as appropriate for each topic.

Writing: Assessment tools that demonstrate writing skill and/or require students to select, organize and explain ideas in writing.		Writing 10 - 100%
