1. Read and comprehend health and medical-related articles and essays.
2. Summarize reading selections.
3. Use critical thinking and inference to discuss implications of a topic to the medical and health community and patients.
4. Demonstrate use of advanced grammar structures to generate questions for information gathering and make statements for explaining procedures to health care professionals and patients.
5. Write on a given topic using appropriate grammar structures.
6. Use contextual clues to determine meaning of vocabulary words.
7. Utilize affixes and roots to determine meaning of medical terminology.
8. Demonstrate appropriate oral communication skills in health care settings.

10. Written vocabulary exercises with use of a medical dictionary
11. Vocabulary skill building using affixes, word root, and suffix knowledge
12. Matching vocabulary with anatomy pictures and diagrams
13. Practice of pronunciation, including stress, intonation, and rhythm patterns
