Outcomes and Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

The student will successfully complete a custom fitted underwire bra.
They will have an understanding of foundation lingerie sewing techniques,
pattern alterations, proper bra fit and history of the modern bra.

Topics and Scope

*  Historical and social perspective of foundation garments:
  Crete - 1990's.
*  Proper bra fit using student fitting teams.
*  Pattern alterations
*  Foundation garment sewing techniques, materials, terms and
  troubleshooting using analysis of ready-to-wear foundation garments,
  instructor demonstration and individual student project.
*  Awareness of unique foundation garment needs experienced by
  individuals with mastectomies or impaired range of motion or
  dexterity.
*  Listing of lingerie sources for continued construction of specialized
  foundation garments including commercial site addresses and phone
  numbers as well as Internet addresses and possible links.
*  Review of material costing.
